General Guild Info
The Buoyant Armigers
— a hardcore-moderate PvP and PvE Guild
But before he could even get within sword-span of the monster, a trio of lower houses had trapped Horde Mountain in a net of doubtful doctrine. When they saw their lord, the Velothi cheered. 'We are happy to serve you and win!' they said. Vivec smiled at those brave souls around him and summoned celebration demons to cleave unto the victors. There was a great display of love and duty around the netted monster, and Vivec was at the center with a headdress made of mating bones. He laughed and told mystical jokes and made the heads of the three houses marry and become a new order. 'You shall forever be now my Buoyant Armigers,' he said.
-The Thirty-Six Lessons of Vivec: Sermon Twenty-Four
In lore, the Buoyant Armigers are a small military order of the Tribunal Temple, exclusively dedicated to and answering to Lord Vivec. The Buoyant Armigers pattern themselves on Vivec’s heroic spirit of exploration and adventure, and seek to emulate his mastery of the varied arts of personal combat, chivalric courtesy, and subtle verse.
GOALS
This is an official TESOF guild.
The goal of TBA is to become a medium to smaller-sized guild emphasizing tactics, strategy and personal skill -- we are not a zerg force. We will build alliances with other guilds, work with them to secure key points in Cyrodiil, lay claim to certain points ourselves, help our members acquire good equipment through all means and experience the PvE content that The Elder Scrolls Online will offer. We aim to be elite members of the Ebonheart Pact; people our allies want by their sides and people our enemies dread to see.
While our focus is on strategy and skill, an important aspect of TBA will be camaraderie. Our strength comes from not only our skill, but by what we do for each other. Our successes in both Cyrodiilic RvR and PvE raids cause the guild as a whole to benefit, and so we value members who want to excel at their chosen aspect of the game. To ensure adequate group composition, members need to understand and fill roles critical to success -- such as tanking, healing and support -- when needed.
If the crafting system in The Elder Scrolls Online is complex, and if it yields equipment and consumables that can complement our members, it will be undertaken with collectively gathered materials and perfomed by members who want to help their guildmates. Being a crafter isn't necessary, but it is a means to an end; a good way to help the guild and yourself.
RECRUITMENT AND REQUIREMENTS
This is an English Language guild located in North America, specifically the GMT -5 time zone. You are not required to be in that timezone or from North America to join, but understand that most members will be.
While there isn't a strict rule on multi-guild membership, you are required to be an active participant. If your focus is deemed to be elsewhere, you will be removed from the roster.
There are no race restrictions to join TBA, and we are currently recruiting all classes and roles. Your continued membership in the guild is contingent on participation and attitude. In this sense, we have high standards. We want people that will get along with each other. You are expected to behave in a respectful manner and internal issues will be dealt with swiftly. Leave your drama at the door. If your performance is deemed lackluster, disruptive or uncooperative, you will be removed from the roster.
This guild considers itself RP-lite, meaning that RP is not a prerequisite, requirement or standard practice; we simply enjoy the story and lore behind the game.
If some members choose to RP, they are free to create their own RP circles and emulate the Armigers of Morrowind; the few who would venture into Red Mountain during Dagoth Ur’s reign, and the hunters of evil -- but don't expect all other members to talk to you in-character at all times.
We fully understand that IRL concerns take precedence over the game and will not discriminate against you if there is a need for long term absence. However, as a general rule, we expect our members to be active players so that assembling RvR groups will be possible without much effort.
RANK STRUCTURE AND LEADERSHIP
TBA will be governed by a small council of elevated members (council size will be determined by roster size). The council includes the ranks of Marshal and Grand Marshal. The council will be responsible for dealing with personnel issues including; unwanted drama, disputes between members, recruitment, promotions and leadership in PvP and PvE. Major guild decisions will be chosen by a council vote. Executive power by the Grand Marshal, and over the council, will never be exercised unfairly - the leadership are partners working together for the benefit of the guild, not servants of the "higher-ups".
Newly recruited members will undergo a week-long probationary period where their participation, skill and attitude will be observed. Upon the end of that period, and if deemed satisfactory, the member will be promoted to the foot-soldier rank of Witch Hunter.
The rank structure is as follows:
Grand Marshal
Guild Leader: Reichmar/Ryk'mar
Marshal
Council position with leadership, disciplinary and recruitment authority.
Deputy Marshal
Given to retired Marshals and exceptional members of good standing and accomplishment.
Crusader
Elite rank given to members of proven loyalty and accomplishment.
Witch Hunter
Given to members who pass their probationary period.
Grunt
Probationary base rank for new members.
